When the Glinton Golf Tournament was founded, three teams competed, The Willows, Clarendon and Glinton Central. The Willows won the first two, and Clarendon won the next two.
Congratulations to Brian Gill for winning the individual stapleford award at the recent golf day held at Thorney Lakes, Brian came in with 39 points playing off 24. Also, well done to the Bravehearts who captained by Timbo Baines won the team prize. Nearest the pin was won by John Hutton, and longest drive was won by Andy Wright. Russ Atkinson easily won the wooden spoon with 6 points, this was his hatrick of officially being Glinton’s worst golfer. Worst dressed golfer went to Colin "what’s wrong with Jeans" Harrison. Thanks to Steve Compton for organising the event.
Previous Individual winners include:- Graham Burgess (Left hander with 45 points off 18) Paul Clegg (more Glinton prizes than Tiger Woods has got majors) Tim Bains (deserves a mention for coming 2nd when achieveing 43 points off a handicap of 11, he lost out to some bloke who got 45 points playing off 28) Colin Hutton and Russell Compton (longest Drive) Adam Clegg and Russell Compton (nearest the pin) Sue Bains (Sue has won the ladies Golf Day and Mixed Golf Day just about every time it takes place, closely followed by Karen Compton on the last occasion)
